Songs of Exhaustion

She transposed herself into darkness, every night.

Hid behind it, somewhere.

Behind the shadow of something.

The trees, the houses, the earths.

I went out with a torch.

Illumined every part of those.

Hunting the haunted.

I came back, exhausted.

Every night.

Within the night.

Without her.

With a realization.

She had deep, dark eyes.

  1. The eyes are the windows to the soul…when they are dark, it’s hard to see into the soul. I think most of us have hidden in darkness and shadows at some point in our lives…but we never stop searching for the light. (Deep thoughts…by Holley)

  2. Ha ha ha! Holley, you reminded me of my childhood when I was very particular about writing down a name below the paintings. I guess, we all fear obscurity. Darkness is just its extension.

    Smile.

  3. It was sort of a joke, Clown. We have a show here called “Saturday Night Live”. It’s been on for probably around 30 years…I used to watch it when I was a teenager. It’s a compilation of funny skits. They used to have this one skit that they showed every week called, “Deep Thoughts, by Jack Handy”. And every week, Jack Handy would share his deep thoughts. My favorite one was this….”The crows seemed to be calling his name, thought Caw”. They were just silly things. If you type in “Deep Thoughts” on Google…I’m betting you will get a site that lists Jack Handy’s Deep Thoughts.

  4. I meant that I have been watching it since I was a teenager…and I still like to watch it…so it’s been on for a really long time…lol.

  5. Bravo! This is excellent…

  6. Morning Abhishek!! can you help me put pics in my posts?

  7. Childwoman, in your Write Post page, you’d find two options to upload your images.

    1. Above the text box where you draft your article, you’d find a small button with a picture on it. You can use this option if you have your images in any photo-hosting site (like photobucket, for instance). Just provide the URL of your image and specify the dimension.

    2. You may also upload your images directly from your PC. You’d find a section in your Write Post page, just below your text editor, where you’d find an option to upload images. Upload images and you’d find an option called Send to Editor. Click on it. And the image would be sent to your text editor and would be positioned where your blinking cursor would be. You’d also have an additional option to post it as thumbnail or full sized. You can resize the image right from your text editor too by dragging it from the edges.

    I hope this helps. Smile.

  8. I love Jack Handy’s “Deep Thoughts”! Yes, I like the comparison…
